The apartment is in the centre, quite spacious, though all the furniture and the linen were rather old and worn. Besides , some kitchen equipment wasn't working, the shabby windows were risky to open, heating was possible only by air-conditioners, and there were some problems with water heating - the boiler (though we didn't find it in the apartment but I guess the water was heated by a boiler) was if insufficient capacity to let more than 1 person to take shower, the other had to wait until it's heated again. I can't say the host was very friendly but not hostile at the same time.

Me and my friend Jakub were in this apartment, we were working in Prague airport and we choose this apartment because location of the apartment was the only good thing about it. First of all apartment was very smelly and humidity was very high, living in that apartment in winter season was almost impossible because it was freezing. Owner said that we need to pat extra money because of the spending too much electricity and gas, the problem was that the heater was not properly set up. Owner said that we change settings, which was not truth. We need to pay 340 € more and owner didn’t propose any agreement. We found that wasn’t out fault because the heater wasn’t set up properly. To clarify we paid more because of usage and apartment was still very cold. Second of all we asked for a new vacuum cleaner because one in the apartment was broken and he ordered it for us after 2 and a half of month. It’s better to find any other apartment than this one.

It's ok

Host Wise have been excellent to deal with. They have responded quickly to any questions and communication overall has been excellent. The apartment itself was advertised as luxury accommodation. In summer that may have been so, but in winter it was cold and draughty as the french doors didn't quite shut properly and the heat pump wasn't coping. There was no double glazing. The kitchen was well equipped. The ensuite shower needs a good scrub around the bottom of the doors and in the grouting.

Overall, it's an okay choice for those seeking a straightforward urban rental, but with room for enhancement.

Small apartment, charming but badly laid out. It have a good location with a mall near. The confort is ok. Unfortunately we left the appartement 3 months before the end of the contract. The bathroom smelled the cigarette and the landlord didn't found a solution. The landlord doesn't matter of our health and our confort, it's a shame.

Good flat with everything you need. The landlord has made an effort to make this tiny basement room (so to say) into a habitable place with all amenities. For those who are light sleepers, I would warn you about the noise. There are noisy people in the tattoo parlour adjacent to the building which can get super annoying as they can party till late night. Also, the opening and closing of the main doors can also be heard and footsteps of all building residents going up and down the stairs. Plus the neighbour who lives infront seems to be some strange person who definitely stole my umbrella that was kept outside during the rainy days to dry off... xD The heater is also really old school and makes noise at night. Plus it gets cold in the room during winter months (if you are planning on booking it at that time) as it shuts off for couple of hours (probably due to load shedding). I would say it's a good place to stay for a really short stay (couple of days). Don't book it for long term.

Communication was easy and nice. The flat is sufficient for a short stay but not in a very good state anymore. You could expect more for this high price.

Our stay was for 5 weeks. The landlord was always responsive and the front desk staff were helpful in answering questions and assisting with needs. The coffee machine stopped working and they sent a replacement. We left the keys in the apartment and Sandra drove in to provide a duplicate set on the weekend. The key to the back gate did not work to open the gate so we always had to access through the front door. Parking is sometimes an issue but we usually found a way to park either in front or on the side. A car is necessary if you want to get around since the building is at sea level and you have a mountain to climb to go up to Monument. We rented a car after 2 days from Sixt located at the roundabout by Reids The view from the apartment and large terrace is jaw dropping. The promenade along Praia Formosa provides a lovely walk in either direction toward Lido area and Funchal (through the tunnel) or to Camara de Lobos. There are restaurants and snack bars along the promenade. The apartment was not comfortable for our needs. It was bare bones in terms of furniture, bed, cookware and linens. The bed was like sleeping on a hard floor and the linens made it worse since they were rough and did not fit the bed. The pillows were a mystery to us, large, full of lumps and bumps. We both had restless sleep and woke with back aches on most days. The towels, 2 bath and 2 hand should have been retired years ago. They were old and acted more like an exfoliator for the skin instead of absorbing moisture. The kitchen was not outfitted to properly cook a small meal and most of the equipment is old and worn. The washing machine worked well and accompanied by a dryer rack to use on the terrace. We love Madeira and were fortunate to spend the Christmas and New Years Holidays on Praia Formosa. Ultimately, we were able to overlook the discomfort and enjoy the view.

Not so much comment

The apartment is big and comfortable, in a good position in the city. The furniture is overall ok; most everyday items are already provided. The owner is cooperative enough, communication is good and timely. Issues with cockroaches due to the zone in town, although it has been addressed by the landlord multiple times. The apartment is exploited for both long and short stays, so there is quite a change of roommates and the hygienic standard can sometimes suffer from this.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the apartment. Our host Diana was very nice but we had some problems with the building: - The door to the apartment was very hard to open and close - There is no lift and the common area smells bad - The apartment has problems with ants (but poison for it was provided) Good things are that things were mostly in a good shape and looked nice. The internet speed was good, TV was good and the apartment is spacious - The kitchen was well-equipped but most of the pans were missing their handles

Aurelian is potentially the nicest landlord I've ever had. I wish it worked out, but I had problems with the unit and chose to move out early (which he allowed me to do very easily). Things I didn't like that can be fixed: the bath didn't work (emits boiling water only). Things I didn't like that might not be able to be fixed: the floors are thin and I can always hear the downstairs talking or with the TV on. They also smoke so I can't open the window. No other problems. HOST'S REPLY: The bath water worked correctly after check but could not be demonstrated as the guest required self-checkin. The neighbour noise probably happened but could be circumstantial. Currently it is pretty silent and TV inaudible, improvements could be due to recent interactions with neighboorhood. Care when moving heavy objects might help avoiding noise conflicts as floor is effectively thin, and closing the bedroom door or windows will completely shut same-floor noises.

The only advantages of the apartment are the balcony with a superb view and the fact that the building is on the beach. Apart from these aspects, the apartment is in a deplorable condition. The tile moves and creaks everywhere, it even swelled and broke and they moved us to another apartment to make repairs. You cannot sit on the sofa in the living room, it is at least 30 years old and it falls apart from any corner. The sofa and the carpet are so old and faded and full of dust that they are completely unusable and have given us a strong dust allergy. The furniture in the balcony is so old that the paint is peeling off. We had to wash all the windows when we moved into the apartment plus the carpet which was full of dust. The refrigerator in the apartment is an extremely small one, like a hotel refrigerator, totally unsuitable for an apartment or for a medium-long term rent. The doors and windows do not insulate sound at all. You can hear any movement from the parking lot and from the nearby shisha bar. The internet is not good for remote work. The collaboration with the staff was a good one.

The location is fantastic, the ocean is very close but the apartment did not look ready for receiving guests. And unfortunately, the apartment looked different from the pictures from when we booked, actually, it was a ground-floor apartment. However, the owner tried to fix everything she could as soon as possible which I appreciate. Overall, the location was just great.

It was hot and the AC was very weak, so the apartment.. The curtains are not enough to avoid the light, so when the sun rises it was difficult to sleep (during 10 days). When we arrived (14 august)there was not enough paper to the toilet, liquid to wash the dishes and the clothes, kitchen towels were very old, notrash bags...

Very few dishes, old furniture, smells damp, little storage space. While the apartment is clean.

I recently stayed at Chillapartman property and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Firstly, the washing machine which was promised in the listing was missing upon my arrival. The landlord did assure me that it would be installed within the first two weeks and also promised to reimburse my expenses for using a public laundry service. He didn't. This was a minor inconvenience, which I was initially willing to overlook. However, during my stay, the landlord repeatedly made requests for small favors. This ranged from picking up his bike from the street to photographing certain items within the apartment. These tasks were not what I expected to be responsible for as a guest. The real disruption began when the landlord decided to undertake construction work in the bathroom to install the washing machine. This lasted half a day, which was a significant inconvenience. Following this, he tried to convince me to pay for the machine's delivery using my personal details and account, a clear breach of my privacy. The tipping point came when, due to my commitments, I couldn’t fulfil one of his many requests. In response, he resorted to threats such as cutting off the internet and making deliberate construction noises in the kitchen, making it impossible to live peacefully. From that point on, I felt it necessary to only communicate with him through Flatio support to ensure my personal safety and security. In conclusion, I would not recommend staying at this property. While the apartment might be appealing on its surface, the landlord's behavior significantly detracted from my experience.

A nice rural place to stay, but too manny flies coming home from the village

The apartment is great, wonderful location and spacious. There were some maintenance issues with the place that never got resolved despite multiple requests. Others did get resolved after complaints were made.
