If my ratings here could be like the movie Spinal Tap, I would say we need to crank it up to 11. I cannot even begin to tell you how incredible my stay was, from the booking, to check-in, to the initial help provided while settling in, and straight on through the entire month. This is a family-run business and everyone I dealt with in terms of the flat itself, to the cleaning and the laundry, not only provided exceptional service, but made me feel truly welcome, me almost like a part of the family. I will definitely be returning to Madeira (soon, I hope) and if I do I hope to stay here again. I would also add that, though I was not here for remote work and the space was still receiving its finishing touches, the adjacent co-working space looks like it would be equally as awesome. I never provide review for the places I’ve stayed, but I just had to provide my sincere and honest feedback here so that others will follow suit and book their stay here. Até logo amigas!
Szomszédság
The flat is in an ideal location, situated on a quiet part of a one-way street, with easy access to the city, transportation and any amenities or services.. Even though there is a bustling pedestrian area at one end, filled with shops and restaurant with outside seating, and several small local bars and cafes dotted along its length, the area where the flat is situated was peaceful. I always felt safe when walking even late at night, but then that’s true of Funchal and Madeira in general, I think.

The newly opened Rise and Dine restaurant is just up the street, and I’m so glad I only discovered it on my last day in Funchal because I think I would have eaten there every day otherwise. Valerio and the other owners have done an outstanding job, not just on the decor and ambiance, and the food (!), but also in training their staff (Look for Pedro and take his recommendations!). I highly recommend the Eggs Royal and the Madeiran Breakfast featuring banana bread French toast, along with their smoothies. I also recommend Motya, a cafe recommended by the host, and a spot I visited almost daily. I had THE best lattes there made with coffee beans from Burundi. If you go, tell Brent I said hello! If great service had a poster, his face would be on it.
