My name is Victoria, and a little over a year ago I discovered this small house in Olula de Castro, a quiet village in Almería that captivated me from the very first moment.
I bought it because I was looking for exactly that: a small, special and different place where I could disconnect from my usual routine and enjoy the peace and quiet, the views and village life. The house had a lot of potential, although it needed some care and personality.
Over the past year, I have decorated it little by little. I didn't want an impersonal house or a renovation simply following current trends. I wanted it to have character, to feel warm and welcoming, and for anyone who walked through the door to feel that it was a home that had been loved and cared for.
I chose every detail carefully and took my time: the colours, textiles, furniture and decorative pieces. Some items have been restored or given a new life, while others were chosen specifically for the house. It has been a very personal project, and I have really enjoyed watching this little space gradually become what I had imagined.
The house retains the charm of traditional village homes, while offering a comfortable and contemporary atmosphere. Above all, it has the kind of tranquillity that is increasingly difficult to find when we are surrounded by noise and constant activity.
Olula de Castro is a place to slow down, go for walks, discover the landscape, read, cook at your own pace or simply sit back and enjoy the surroundings.
Now I would love for other people to be able to enjoy the house as much as I have over this past year.
