Hi,
My name is Adam. A few years ago, my wife Agnes, our children, and I decided to leave our traditional lifestyle behind and create a different kind of life. We chose the Azores because we fell in love with the islands—the incredible nature, the ocean, the relaxed pace of life, and the warmth of the people.
São Miguel is now our home, and we feel very lucky to live here. We enjoy sharing the island with our guests and meeting people from all over the world. Every guest brings a different story, culture, and perspective, and getting to know people is one of the things we love most about hosting.
My family and I live on site, on the first floor of our spacious house, while the rental apartments are located on the ground floor. This means we are always nearby if you need help, local advice, or simply someone to talk to. We are happy to recommend our favourite places, from hiking trails and quiet viewpoints to natural swimming spots, thermal pools, restaurants, and cafés. When possible, we are also glad to go shopping or explore the island together.
Quinta São Roque has three apartments, giving guests their own private space while also creating opportunities to meet other travellers, share stories, and enjoy a barbecue together.
When you are at home, you can relax in the garden, swim in the natural swimming pond, practise yoga on the decks, read a book from our small library, or choose a game from our collection of board games.
We hope you will feel welcome here—not just as a guest, but as someone sharing in the lifestyle we chose for ourselves. We look forward to welcoming you to São Miguel and helping you discover the Azores we love.
