I had a great experience! Lidia was amazing and very hospitable. The room exceeded my expectations, and the view was so beautiful and rejuvenating. For those staying long-term I’d recommend having a vehicle. The nearest market is about a 30- 40 minute walk. There’s a levada walk directly in front of the property which was also a nice surprise. For those coming from the U.S. make sure to confirm the date of checkout as Flatio accounts for DAYS booked, and not nights like we are accustomed to. This was a mistake I made. Even then, Lidia was very gracious and accommodating. I’d highly recommend Lidia’s place and would definitely stay again!

The property is located a decent ways up the mountain in Calheta. There are some steep inclines to contend with so definitely brush up on your manual driving skills.

We stayed for 16 nights as part of our Madeira workation. Nice office chairs, sufficient desk space, great internet connection, and a gorgeous view (both in the daytime and at night); could not have asked for a better temporary office. Lidia and her staff were very accommodating and generous. Since we went quite late in the season, it did get a bit chilly at times, but our appartment had effective heaters in both lounge and bedroom.

The view is to die for; the area does not feel touristy at all. This tranquility comes with a side effect of basically no services that are easily reachable on foot. By car, however, Calheta is not far and offers everything you need. We cannot evaluate public transport as we did not use it.

If you have a dedicated driver, try the Pukiki cocktail bar in Estreito da Calheta. Delicious drinks, delightful setting. Non-alcolohic cocktails available, too.

Not enough amazing things can be said about this property. I love it.

Its secluded, the views are amazing, the internet is blazing fast the property is a fun little micro farm, and the food from the farm is a lovely way to connect with your food.

The house and kitchen are fully stocked and comfortable. It is very peaceful and serene. The sunsets are out of this world, and the weather is basically perfect, if not for a bit of rain and clouds. The housekeeper is a gem... Thorough and helpful.

The landlord and proprietor, is an angel. She is amazing. She bent over backward to make our stay as comfortable as possible. I really loved my time here.

The pool and hammocks are major plusses here. I will do my best to come back

The apartment was great - recently renovated, great views looking out on to the sea and a great host. Lidia was very warm, accommodating and friendly. Highly recommend staying here!

What a lovely stay. A great house, beautifully stunning surroundings and a wonderful host!

The surrounding nature is amazing with many lovely little walks on your door step. Waterfalls and forests are within a few minutes walk.

Lidia is an amazing Host and wonderful person. She could not have been more accommodating and offered a lot local advise and well informed suggestion.

Highly recommended!
