Luis was an incredibly good host. He even gave the prefect guide to visit nearby hiking trails. And coming to the house in the midst of the mountains is picture perfect.

Our stay in São Vicente was absolutely perfect. The place is beautiful, peaceful, and in the best location for exploring the entire island of Madeira. Luis is an incredibly kind and helpful host who made us feel very welcome from the very beginning. My sister and I truly enjoyed every moment of our stay. Thank you for everything, and we hope to see you again soon!

This flat is located on a beautiful property in a scenic and quiet neighborhood. It's quite cozy and is best for one or two people, possibly three if traveling with a small child (as we were). The host and his mother, who happened to be on site, were both kind and accommodating. It's a nice place to stay, especially if you like cats.

Luís bol skvelým hostiteľom. Bol nápomocný, flexibilný, rýchle komunikoval, dal nám super tipy na výlety a miesta po Madeire. Nemali sme s ním absolútne žiadny problém.

Living in the northern countryside of Madeira island typically means that public transport is scarce, as well as the quantity of shops. If that is no issue to you, and you love to spend time in nature, instead of the city life, then this is a great place to stay.

The house was really cozy, clean and well-equipped. The town is located in beautiful area. It is a great base for hiking and exploring nearst routes and levadas.

The owners are super kind, helpful and easy to communicate. They create nice and comfortable atmosphere there.

Additional plus of the place is the family of adorable cats living in the area, who loves spending some time and sleeping in front of the house. If you stay there please respect them and give some cat-snack ;)

It is fantastic apartment. The apartment is located in a beautiful place near the ocean. Lúis and his mother are very kind people. If we come back, I’ll rent this apartment again

I had an amazing stay at this property! The location is absolutely stunning, surrounded by mountains in every direction, offering a serene and peaceful atmosphere—perfect for getting a good rest after exploring the island, hiking the levadas, or swimming in natural pools. Luis was an excellent host, providing everything we needed, including an extra mattress for added comfort. The kitchen was fully equipped, and having a washing machine was a great convenience. If I return to Madeira, If I return to Madeira, I’d choose to stay here again without a doubt.

Luis byl vždy ochotný a vstřícný, obratem reagoval na dotazy. Přizpůsobil se našemu příjezdu a odjezdu. Dal nám tipy na restaurace a obchody. Ubytování je v klidné části s výhledem na hory, nedaleko oceánu. Doporučuji.

Such a beautiful place and apartment! Luís and his mother are such friendly and nice people, I felt very welcome and enjoyed my stay a lot. The apartment is super cozy and clean. You can do great hikes and the sea is beautiful. I would recommend it and will come back for sure <3

Awesome experience! I had no idea where I was going when I booked this place and when I arrived I couldn't believe how perfect it was. Peace and quiet were on my agenda and I got it there. Absolutely breathtaking views! The home is updated and bright and has everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a very comfortable bed. The cherry on the top was the owners. Luis and his mother, Angela, are incredibly sweet and genuine, and were beyond accommodating. And of course, Sasha, the family dog, became my best friend, or I became hers anyway. 😂 I felt like family. I cried when I left after a month. I will return one day for sure!

The neighbourhood is very rustic with all farms, but also with a good road system. You definitely need a vehicle to get around as buses are very limited. It's up in the mountains so it's very green and lush. The people are incredibly warm and friendly. It's also close to one of best surfing beaches and despite being in the mountains, is not too far from Funchal and other towns.

There are so many beautiful places it's hard to say. What I did was get in my car and just drove. The beach area is quite nice if you want to be with lots of people, restaurants, etc. The Atlantic Ocean is everywhere you look!

We stayed a couple of weeks for smartworking and felt at home.
Luis immediately gave us directions to places to see and where to eat, and as soon as we arrived mum brought us a very good banana helmet.
We'll be back, sure.

We spent 5 perfect days at Refugio da Casinha. The apartment is equipped with everything needed: a complete kitchen, a new bathroom, and a comfortable bed.
Unfortunately, we had rainy days, but there is also a cozy terrace where to have breakfast or dinner :)

The location is really good for visiting the northern part of the island, as well as the south, as Sao Vicente is well connected to Funchal and the south coast.

We highly recommend this relaxing place in Madeira!

For three months, we lived in this cozy place - my girlfriend, our dog, and I are completely satisfied with the apartment. It exceeded all our expectations! Both of us work as programmers, so it was important to have comfortable working conditions. Luis arranged an excellent workspace with two desks and fast internet. I especially want to emphasize that Luis and his family are some of the most hospitable and pleasant people I've ever met! Throughout these three months, we felt at home. Next time we visit Madeira, we will definitely return here!

Mieszkanie, które wynająłem w Sao Vicente, to była idealna baza wypadowa do zwiedzania wyspy z własnym transportem. Mieszkanie było położone w spokojnej okolicy, z przepięknym widokiem. Do centrum Sao Vicente było 5min skuterem.

Mieszkanie było bardzo czyste i schludne. Wszystko działało bez zarzutu, a wyposażenie było w pełni zadowalające. W kuchni znajdowała się lodówka, kuchenka, piekarnik, mikrofalówka, czajnik elektryczny, ekspres kapsułkowy i niezbędne naczynia. Salon i sypialnia w pełni wyposażone (w tym w otwartą szafę, więc nie było problemu z przechowywaniem rzeczy). Metraż mieszkania na dwie osoby w zupełności wystarczający. Do tego taras wyposażony w mały solik, krzesła i parasol. Do użytku mieliśmy również pralkę, która znajduje się w pomieszczeniu ogólnodostępnym.

Kontakt z gospodarzem po angielsku poprzez WhatsAppa, zawsze błyskawicznie odpisywał i można było podpytać o wydarzenia które odbywały się w okolicy. My spędziliśmy tutaj 20dni i postaramy się jeszcze wrócić. Polecam każdemu kto kocha naturę i poszukuje cichego miejsca wypadowego.
